Hello there dear friends! I’ve organized a Cuppa for CANSA fundraiser day for Saturday 30th May 2009 from 12pm – 4pm at Aneera in Edenvale. It’s a holistic centre run and owned by really great family friends of mine. I want to hold it there as it’s such a tranquil environment & I also thought it would be the perfect opportunity to create awareness for alternative kinds of cancer treatment, beyond the doctors etc. They offer Reiki, Tibetan Sound Therapy, Reflexology, Life Coaching, Meditation Classes, and Hypnosis etc.
I have registered with CANSA and they have supplied me with the posters and pamphlets to promote this event as well as information on Cancer treatment/support/prevention. 1time has put together a package of 2 return air tickets to Cape Town, accommodation and car hire (the winners will just have to pay for the petrol) and Aneera is also going to put a package together for us to raffle. Craig, my husband, is going to sell 1time raffle tickets at the event too but I can’t convince him to wear his uniform unfortunately. We’re going to sell the tea/coffee/juice and cakes/biscuits/muffins and then have collection tins on the tables if people want to give more. All the proceeds from the sales, donations and raffles will go directly to CANSA. Please could you let me know if you’d be willing to sell raffle tickets at your work as from next week? I’ll email you the raffle lists – it’s R10 a ticket which I think is great considering the prizes on offer!
A florist down the road from us is sponsoring the sun flowers and Gerberas (all in yellow) to use in decoration of the venue. I’m going to get some yellow helium balloons and table confetti stuff and really make it look bright and cheerful. I want my Mom to get some more LIVESTONG bands off E-Bay before she comes out from the UK in May and we can sell those too.
1time is also looking at getting their on board magazine to cover the event J Please encourage everyone you know to come along and sponsor this worthy cause! You don’t have to come for the full 4 hours, just pop in for half an hour and have a piece of cake.
